The Katarina Witt Foundation supports needy, disabled people, in order to help them achieve mobility, self-esteem, and joy in life.

Disaster Relief

Natural disasters, such as earthquakes and tsunamis, change the lives of those affected in an instant.. The Katarina Witt Foundation offers fast, non-bureaucratic aid. It funds emergency medical treatment, provides walking aids and wheelchairs, and sees to it that severely disabled children who have lost their mobility get long-term medical assistance.

Helping Children Worldwide

The medical standards in a large part of the world are much lower than they are in Germany. Without aid, many disabled children have no chance for mobility, because they simply don’t have access to medical and therapeutic treatment. Whether in Asia or Africa, whether victims of landmines or birth defects, by giving them mobility, we are enabling them to be independent, confident, and happy to be alive.

Support for Competitive Sports and Sports for the Disabled

Even in Germany, disabled children often have no opportunity to discover their athletic talents. The Katarina Witt Foundation has taken on the challenge to provide far-reaching and continual development in this area. Children and teens who are excited about sports shall be allowed to tap their potential with help from the Foundation. We want to help in cooperation with our donors, so that these kids can go confidently and successfully through life.
