Eight-year-old Luong from Vietnam is trying to get through life with only one hand. However, she just isn’t successful, no matter how hard she tries. The long-term consequences of a phytotoxin used during the Vietnam war robbed her of her hand and her left arm up to the elbow. She lives in a small Vietnamese village in the country near Dong Hoi, where she was born the child of two poor farmworkers. The destitute family, who is struggling and hardly able to eat, cannot afford a prosthesis for Luong.
A modern electric prosthetic arm from Germany would make Luong’s life much easier. With two hands, this intelligent little girl could provide for herself and others.
